Muutamme rakennusalaa ihmisläheisemmäksi ja pelastamme ilmaston puutaloilla

Meillä on toivoa. Vaikka rakennusala aiheuttaa lähes 40 % kaikista maailman kasvihuonepäästöistä, on olemassa ratkaisu.

Kun kerrostalo rakennetaan massiivipuusta, se sitoo hiiltä helposti kolme kertaa enemmän kuin metsä, joka sen tontilla kasvaisi. Muutama kerros levyä ja lankkua on enemmän, kuin pystyssä seisovat männyt, koivut tai kuuset.

Talo talolta voimme kerätä varastoon sen hiilen, jonka olemme poranneet ja louhineet maasta ja päästäneet ilmakehään.

Ainoa ehto on se, että puuta käytetään rakenteena eikä koristeena. Se vaatii isoja muutoksia opeissa, asenteissa ja jopa lainsäädännössä.

Meillä Puurakentajilla on missio. Muutamme rakennusalaa ihmisläheisemmäksi ja pelastamme ilmaston puutaloilla.

Me rakennamme vain massiivipuusta. Jos puutaloon vaaditaan muovia väärään paikkaan, me autamme ratkaisun löytämisessä, mutta voimme myös jättää urakan väliin, jos riskinä on talo, joka ei kestä tai ole kestävä.

Ronskilla rakennusalalla me emme kiroile ja me tervehdimme kaikkia. Meillä terveydenhuolto kattaa myös hampaat ja mielen.  

Kun taloa tehdään yhdessä, tehdään yhteistä taloa yhteiselle planeetalle.

We make the construction business more human and save the climate with wooden houses

There is hope. While the construction sector emits almost 40 % of all of the world’s greenhouse gases, there is a solution.

If a high-rise is built of solid wood elements, it can easily sequestrate three times more carbon than the forest that would grow on its lot. A few floors of boards and planks are more than all the pines, spruces, and birches swaying in the wind.

House by house, we can capture all the carbon we have drilled and mined from the earth and released into its atmosphere. 

The only condition is that wood serves as the actual structure and not just as a decorative surface. This shift requires significant changes in doctrines, attitudes, and even in legislation. 

We have a mission. We will make the construction business more human and save the climate with wooden houses. 

We only build with solid wood elements. If a client asks us to use plastic for a wrong purpose in a wooden house, we help find a solution. But if a risk remains that the house won’t be sustainable or lasting, we may pass on the job.  

On the sometimes racy construction branch, we don’t use swear words and we greet everyone we meet. Our health care plan also covers oral and mental health. 

When we build a house together, we build a common house for our common planet.
